Unprecedented floods in Jammu and Kashmir have created havoc in the lives of people. Incessant rains, overflowing and breach in the embankments of Jhelum and Chinab rivers have wrecked a havoc and damaged infrastructure, homes, and resulted in the death of more than 175 people so far.
Military personnel along with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are relentlessly engaged in evacuating the survivors and save their lives. More than 23,000 people are evacuated to safety so far. But there is a humanitarian crisis as thousands of survivors are at risk due to lack of food, water, medicine and safe shelter.
India Today group's Care Today Fund has launched an appeal for donations from all the concerned citizens to help the survivors.
You could donate in the following ways:
Donors based in India holding an INR bank account
(1) Draw a cheque or DD favoring 'Care Today A/c J and K Flood Relief Fund' and send to Care Today Fund, India Today Mediaplex, FC-8, Sector 16A, Film City, NOIDA-201301, U.P.
Donors based overseas and having a bank account in currencies other than INR (such as USD, GBP etc)
(2) Draw a cheque favoring 'Care Today Fund' and send to Today Fund, India Today Mediaplex, FC-8, Sector 16A, Film City, NOIDA-201301, U.P-India
(3) All donation made to Care Today Fund are exempted from income tax as per the provisions of 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act. Donations of Rs 5000/ or more will be acknowledged in India Today pages.
